Physical Health Hub
Most mental health and physical activity research describe unidirectional causes of physical activity on mental health, and as a result, a strong evidence base is being established for the effectiveness of physical activity as a treatment for mental health issues.
Mental health issues impact physical activity behaviour change processes, this is a bi-directional issue. A decrease in physical activity can be linked directly to the increase in mental health illness. Equally, those suffering with mental health issues often reduce the amount of elective physical activity undertaken.
The Big Orange Heart Physical Health Hub is dedicated to raising awareness of these issues, delivering guidance, research and education. The Physical Health Hub also recognises and actively educates community members around the potential for limitations placed on members of the public through web accessibility.
